Chilli Paneer – Easy Home Recipe – Healthy & Tasty



Make restaurant style Chilli Paneer at home with this step by step recipe. Chilli Paneer is tossed in a flavorful spicy sauce made with soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar. Tastes great with fried rice or hakka noodles.

Paneer or Indian cottage cheese is a fresh cheese common in the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) made from cow or buffalo milk. It is a non-aged, non-melting soft cheese made by curdling milk with a fruit- or vegetable-derived acid, such as lemon juice. Its acid-set form (cheese curd) before pressing is called chhena.

300 g – Paneer 1 tsp – Vinegar
1/2 – Capsicum (Green Pepper) 1/2 cup – Refined Oil
1/2 – Red Bell Pepper 1/2 tsp – Salt
1/2 – Yellow Bell Pepper 1 tsp – Corn Flour
2 – Green Chilli 1/2 tsp – Black Pepper
1 tsp – Ginger Cutting 1 tsp – Soy Sauce
1 tsp – Garlic Cutting 2 tsp – Tomato Ketchup
1/2 – Onion 1 tsp – Green Chilli Sauce

Step 1: Chop all the veggies in cubed form

To prepare this yummy recipe, take a chopping board and chop the paneer, onion and bell peppers in small cubes. Wash the cubed bell peppers in running water and keep them aside. Now, peel ginger and garric finely chop it in a small bowl. Then cut the green chillies in strips or you can also slice them in half.

Step 2: Marinate and shallow fry the paneer pieces until golden in colour

Next, In a small bowl add cornflour, salt, black pepper and add paneer in it. Marinate for 10-15 minutes. Next, put a skillet on medium flame and heat oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add the cubed paneer pieces in it and fry them till they turn golden in colour. Once done, keep them aside.

Step 3: Saute all the veggies with spices and add fried paneer in it

Now, put a saucepan on medium flame and add a little oil in it. Add chopped ginger, garlic in it. Add cubed onioin in it, saute for a minute then add bell peppers to it. Next, add tomato ketchup, green chilli sauce and soy sauce in it. Stir well and cook for two to three minutes. Finally, add the fried paneer cubes and toss them well.

Step 4: You can also add some extra water, cornflour and black pepper thicken if you want to make a glossy gravy or prepare semi-dry chilli paneer. Add vinegar in it and enjoy hot.
